Kiri Waiata-Green is nationally recognised as a pioneer in using sound and voice as a tool for personal development. A lifetime musician, she is classically trained in Piano, Violin and Clarinet and has performed to crowds of up to 2000 as a vocalist.
In 2011, Kiri performed with Reclink’s The Transformers choir in her role as a volunteer support worker at a private audience with the Dalai Lama and noted dignitaries’ including Jane Goodall and former Australian of the Year, Professor Patrick McGorry. Kiri stepped into the role of Musical Director for The Transformers in September 2012 and leads acapella community choir Te Tira based in The Gap, Brisbane, Queensland.
Kiri trained through the Trinity College of Music and the Royal School of Music, London, and spent time studying acapella singing in Findhorn, Scotland with names like the Black Voices, Ishbel MacAskill and Sian Croose. A qualified counsellor Kiri moved into coaching in 2009, training with internationally accredited company, Beyond Success. She is personally mentored and coached by Paul Blackburn.

Kiri is one of the most intuitive operators in her chosen field. It is this unusual blend of inherent wisdom, gained knowledge, performer’s attitude and her easy ability to connect that makes her very adept at this boutique blend of life instruction. She is passionate and driven to teach the benefits of using sound and voice to “tune in and tune up” thereby improving confidence, self esteem, communication and over all wellbeing. This has recently been achieved when working with at risk teenagers at the Deception Bay Flexible Learning Centre during 2012.
Much of Kiri’s recent work outside of facilitating her own workshops and running her coaching and consulting business, has focused on Community Arts and Development as seen in her contribution to Brisbane based groups The Reclaimers Street Orchestra, The Transformers choir and co-founding Upatree Arts Co-operative.
She has sung with and for numerous Australian solo artists and choirs, including Deborah Conway, blues queen Lil’Fi, well known folk singer-songwriter and choral director Ann Bermingham and Yani, consummate solo performer and choral director.
