Welcome To Te Tira!

Te Tira is a mixed voices acapella community choir based in Bardon, Brisbane, Queensland.

Our repertoire includes world music – traditional folks songs in their native language and music by Australian composers, including pieces written by Te Tira’s conductor Kiri Waiata-Green.

Kiri brings more than 35 years of musical experience to the group having started out in choirs at the age of 7. After singing with community choir  Peace’n’Choir for more than 13 years and stepping in to conduct in the absence of regular musical director Ann Bermingham, Kiri decided it was time to start her own choir.

Te Tira is in its fifth year and many of its members are returning to singing after long absences or never having sung before.

Rehearsals are evenings of fun, learning and harmony.  We currently rehearse on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30pm at the Bardon Community Hall, 247b Simpsons Rd, Bardon, next to the Bardon Kindy on Bowman Park.

All Welcome!
